The girls and I recently watched Smurfs: The Lost Village.  Growing up watching the smurfs as a kid, I really loved this movie!  To be honest, I really didn’t care for the live action movies they did awhile back – they didn’t remind me of the “old smurfs”.   This new movie however, takes me back to my 80’s childhood.  I love how they stay in smurf village, and although others may not agree with me – I LOVE THAT IT IS A CARTOON!

Movie Description:  In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting race through the Forbidden Forest to find a lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel. Embarking on a rollercoaster journey full of action and adventure, the Smurfs about to discover THE biggest secret in Smurf history!

My girls really didn’t watch much of the previous smurf movies.  However, the answer to the always wondered question”Why is there only one girl smurf” — had my girls watching this movie non-stop.  In-fact, we have watched it 5 times so far!

I love the message of the movie — Don’t be locked into someone else’s label for you, give of yourself, care for others, do your best, and most of all, be there for the ones you love.

Seems Smurftastic to me! 🙂
