Are you feeling burdened by worries, fears, or anxieties? As Christians, we have hope in Jesus Christ and we don’t have to carry our burdens alone. In 1 Peter 5:6-8, we are urged to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and cast all our cares on Him, because He cares about us.
However, sometimes we may struggle to release our problems to God completely. We may lay them at His feet but still try to pick them up and solve them ourselves. That’s where the lava lamp object lesson comes in handy. By filling a jar with oil, adding water and food coloring, and dropping an Alka-Seltzer tablet in it, we can visualize how our problems dissolve when we give them to God and let Him work on them.
But it’s not just about the object lesson. It’s about trusting in God, praying, and fixing our thoughts on Him. Isaiah 26:3 promises that God will keep in perfect peace all who trust in Him and whose thoughts are fixed on Him. And Romans 12:12 encourages us to rejoice in hope, be patient in affliction, and be persistent in prayer.
So the next time you feel worried, remember to speak God’s promises out loud and turn your thoughts towards Him. He hears our prayers, He cares for us, and He acts. Let’s give our worries to God and trust in Him. It’s time to rejoice in hope and let Him take care of the rest.
