Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you. Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.1 Peter 5:6-8
When we lay something at the Father’s feet, do we release it completely? Or do we try to pick it up and try to fix it or do it on our own?
You were never meant to carry your burdens alone. Give your worries to God!
God wants us to give our anxieties, worries, fears, and concerns to Him. Satan wants us to feel alone, buried, and stuck. He wants us to feel hopeless. But as Christians, we know that we have hope in Jesus Christ. We don’t have to carry our burdens by ourselves.
This fun lava lamp object lesson will help children remember to cast their cares on the Lord, and put their trust in Him!

The Alka-seltzer is our problems, burdens, worries, or cares. We sometimes think we give the Lord our problems, yet we carry them around or lay them close to Him, but they’re always within our reach. When the issues come back around, or we don’t have answers we are often tempted to pick them back up and solve them ourselves. The Lord wants us to give them to Him.
Drop the Alka-Seltzer into the Glass
When you have a problem, pray over it, and release it to Him (into the glass). When the Lord has the problem completely, He begins to work on it. It starts to dissolve and disappear. God has it. It will take time to dissolve, just like it takes time for Him to answer our prayers and work things out. When we genuinely release our problems to Him and let go completely He starts to work because He cares for us. But as long as we hold onto them and don’t release them, we will try to do it on our own and in our strength. Trust. He hears our prayers. He cares. He acts. Praise God!
You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace, for it is trusting in you.Isaiah 26:3
The next time you feel worried speak this promise out loud and turn your thoughts towards Him: He will keep in perfect peace all who trust in Him, all whose thoughts are fixed on Him!
Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.Romans 12:12
This object lesson reminds me of the story of Abraham and Sarah in the Bible.
