Hey everyone,
I was listening to some amazing songs that I wanted to share with you all. “Speak Life” by TobyMac and “Start A Fire” by Unspoken are two songs that really inspired me to make a difference in the world through my words and actions. They talk about the importance of love, hope, and compassion, and how they can change people’s lives for the better.
As I was listening to these songs, I started thinking about the natural world around us and the symbols of love and community that we can find there. Sunflowers are a great example of this, as they always turn their faces towards the sun and follow its path throughout the day. Honeybees and honey are also symbols of love and community, as bees work together to care for their queen and produce honey.
I did some research and found out that sunflowers and honey are also referenced in the Bible as symbols of sweetness, nourishment, and the passing of time. Even Jesus himself is often referred to as the “honey in the rock”, which is a symbol of his sweetness and nourishment for the soul.

All of these themes tie together to remind us of the transformative power of love, hope, and compassion, and of the importance of seeking God’s guidance in all that we do. Just like sunflowers turn their faces towards the sun and bees work together to care for their queen and produce honey, we are called to turn our hearts towards God and seek his guidance in all that we do. And just like the lyrics of “Speak Life” and “Start A Fire” encourage us to make a positive impact in the world through our words and actions, we are called to spread love, hope, and compassion wherever we go.
To tie everything together, I wanted to share with you all a beautiful song called “Honey in the Rock” by Brooke Ligertwood. This song echoes the themes of love, hope, and compassion found in “Speak Life” and “Start A Fire”, and also references the symbolism of honey and rock found in the Bible. The lyrics remind us that we can find everything we need in God, and that there is sweetness and satisfaction to be found in trusting Him. As we strive to make a positive impact in the world, may we remember the words of this song and seek guidance and nourishment from the One who holds the honey in the rock.
Thanks for reading, and I hope these songs and symbols inspire you as much as they did me!
Best,
Elizabeth
That’s a good song!
Powerful positive words, finding inspiration from bits of nature!
