Summer is here, and it’s the perfect time to get organized! Whether you’re looking to declutter your home or streamline your schedule, the 30-day summer organization challenge can help you achieve your goals and enjoy a more organized life. But before we dive into the challenge, let’s take a moment to reflect on why organizing and cleaning can be a spiritual practice.
As Christians, we believe that everything we have comes from God, and we are called to be good stewards of His gifts. This includes our homes and possessions. By organizing and keeping a clean house, we serve others and use our gifts to bless those around us. Cleaning can also be an opportunity to reverence God by approaching it with a spirit of gratitude and humility. We can view cleaning as a way to honor God by taking care of the space and belongings He has given us and by creating a clean and orderly environment that promotes peace and well-being.
Additionally, we can approach cleaning as a way to serve others, recognizing that by keeping our space clean and tidy, we are making it more welcoming and hospitable for those who visit or live with us. We can use cleaning as a time for reflection and prayer, using the physical act of cleaning as a way to clear our minds and focus on our relationship with God. Doing so can create a deeper connection with God and a greater appreciation for His blessings.

CHALLENGE: DAY ONE
To kick off the challenge, create a family command center! A family command center is a designated area where you can keep track of important information, schedules, and tasks for the whole family. To create one, start by choosing a central location in your home that is easily accessible to everyone. Next, gather supplies such as bulletin boards, calendars, file folders, and writing utensils. Hang up the bulletin board and set up the calendar, using color coding or symbols to differentiate between family members. Use the file folders to store important papers such as school forms or bills. You can also add a whiteboard or chalkboard to the command center for quick notes or reminders. By creating a family command center, you’ll be able to keep everyone on the same page and reduce stress and confusion in your daily routine.
