Audible, in conjunction with four-time NBA champion and two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry’s Unanimous Media and award-winning children’s media company Story Pirates Studios, announces the launch of Game On, a new podcast about professional sports for the whole family. The eight-episode series begins streaming exclusively on Audible beginning today, April 6.
The goal of Game On is not only to spark interest in professional sports but also to introduce unconventional stories and cultural conversations that go beyond highlights and stats. Hosted by Story Pirates Jordan R. Coleman, Moni Oyedepo, Julia Schroeder, and Mark Vigeant, Game On features comedy, sports history, fun facts, celebrity impersonations, interviews, and more. The podcast includes an eclectic array of special guests like World Champion Disc Golfer Paige Pierce, trailblazer and CEO of the Dallas Mavericks Cynt Marshall, and Emmy Award-winning sports and pop culture writer and host Jason Concepcion, among others.
Game On’s first season covers topics as unique as its guests. Each episode focuses on a new sports-related subject such as the signature moves of famous athletes, the wild world of sports nutrition, up-and-coming new sports like disc golf and professional tag, famous sports curses, NBA fashion trends, and glass ceiling-shattering role models.
“Here at Unanimous Media, we value content that brings the family together, and that’s why we’re so excited to release Game On,” says Erick Peyton and Stephen Curry. “Together with Story Pirates, we’ve made a show that will have parents and kids alike coming together and laughing out loud while they discover new stories about the fascinating world of sports.”
“With the launch of Game On, we hope to inject the comedy of the Story Pirates Podcast into pro sports storylines, making the show accessible not only to sports fanatics but also to the whole family,” explains Lee Overtree, co-founder, and Creative Director of Story Pirates Studios. “We feel so lucky to be partnering with Unanimous Media on this show and hope that by including such a diverse group of voices and topics, families everywhere will be able to make a connection with this high-energy podcast.”
Game On is executive produced by Unanimous Media founders Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton, Story Pirates founders Lee Overtree and Benjamin Salka, and Audible’s Heather Alexander. This is the third podcast from Unanimous Media on Audible, joining The Greatest Sports Stories Never Told, a series that delves into fascinating stories rooted in the world of athletics, but with an impact that goes far beyond fields, courts and diamonds; and Fifteen Minutes From Home, where each episode centers around Curry himself riding home with a different celebrity. Game On is the second podcast from Story Pirates Studios led by the same team who created the multi-award-winning Story Pirates Podcast. Story Pirates Studios has also produced the first Looney Tunes podcast for Warner Brothers Animation, Bugs and Daffy’s Thanksgiving Road Trip.
