One of the reasons I LOVE Pure Flix is because it offers wholesome and encouraging entertainment for the entire family. So often, we can get wrapped up in the world, and lose focus on what God calls us to do. Pure Flix offers us a chance, as Christians, to affirm your family’s values with Pure Flix originals and exclusive movies and shows.

Today, I would like to introduce you to a new Pure Flix original movie called “Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters,” based on the New York Times Bestselling book, “Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters,” written by Dr. Meg Meeker. This movie is not only entertaining, but it capture’s the book’s principles with a wonderfully engaging story that is sure to transform hearts. I highly encourage you to watch this new movie and discover the essential truths about a father’s role in his daughter’s life and the heart cry of every daughter! When a father engages in his daughter’s life, he is not only transformed, but he gives her the power to become just the woman God created her to be.

Steve loves all three of his daughters – but does he really know who they are? Discover the heartfelt journey of a dad who desperately tries to hold onto his little girls but learns he must give up control and trust God with their future.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

Psalm 103:13

The gift of parenting is that we learn and grow with our children. The Lord has a way of purifying our hearts as we grow and surrender to His ways, as He simultaneously uses us to nurture our children. But as a parent, who is really in control? Us or God? How do we nurture them without tearing them down or pushing them away? How do we not let our fears or expectations become stumbling blocks for the bright future that the Lord has planned for them?

My relationship with my father is not strong, and I could understand the cry of the daughter Zoey in this movie. The relationship between a father and daughter is very unique and special, and that relationship can help shape and mold what their relationship with Father God and other men in their lives will look like. The conversation Steve had with Zoey after he pulled her out of a sketchy situation at a party had me in tears because that is the conversation that so many daughters need to hear. As women, we all have the same heart cry, to feel beautiful, seen, understood, and loved by theirs fathers. I loved that this movie addressed the heart cry (and inner workings) of girls that only a Father who is led by the Holy Spirit can fill, because they’re demonstrating the love of Father God.

Having daughters of my own, being a single mom, having father wounds, and seeing those potential wounds affect my daughter’s hearts, my review of this movie may be different than others. On the surface, this movie reminds us of the importance of a father in his daughter’s life. It reminds fathers to see past their expectations as a parent and allow their children to discover their own gifts and paths in life. It’s also a reminder for fathers to be present and available in their daughters’ lives and encourage them to pursue their own dreams. But what if you are like me, and you struggle with not having that encouragement, that comfort, or support as a child or even as an adult? What if you made poor decisions because of that neglect, and now you have daughters who face the same fate? I want to propose that this movie goes even deeper than just a relationship between a father and daughter, but a relationship with our creator, the grace he gives, and the gift he offers us all when we submit to his divine will for our lives. He wants us to accept His free gift of unconditional love, and as we spend time with Him, He will share his delight in us as his child.

This movie, for me, was one of the transforming power of God’s grace and the power He has in our lives when we let go and trust Him with our futures in a fallen, broken world. As daughters, we don’t always have the perfect Father, but we have a loving Father who hears our cries and continuously transforms the hearts of those who turn to Him and trust His divine plan and open their hearts to His.

I highly recommend this movie if you’re a Father to a Daughter. I think it’s wonderful that this movie is on PureFlix to help mold the hearts and minds of fathers and daughters alike, no matter what that looks like. It’s a great resource to encourage fathers to engage with, strengthen, and build their relationship with their daughters. It’s will bring healing to the broken-hearted and forgiveness; for the daughters with the tough relationship and the fathers that feel like it’s too late to mend that relationship. Daughters want more time to enjoy their fathers or more time to heal; it’s never too late. This is why I’m passionate about sharing the streaming service Pure Flix, as it’s intentional positive entertainment that the whole family can enjoy. It’s a streaming service that can be used for God’s glory.
