I was sitting in the back of a police car the night my entire world came crashing down. A self-proclaimed atheist, that night, I prayed what I believe was my first prayer, “Why are You doing this to me?”
I had no clue that the God of all creation was getting ready to answer my prayer. It wasn’t Him doing anything to me, it was actually HIM saving me. Saving me from a life of darkness, addiction, confusion, and deep-rooted pain.
God loves to take what the enemy meant for evil against us and turn it for our good. And even though I didn’t know it yet, I was about to find out what this really meant firsthand, the night I got arrested.
I’m so thankful the police officer pulled me over that day because it set me on the road to finally meet the King.

I wrote this book to pull the curtain back on the darkest moments in my life when Jesus, the Hero of hope, came in and revealed Himself to me as my Savior, Deliverer, Healer, and King.
Sometimes you just have to watch someone go through a dark season to know that what He did for me, He will do for you. From homelessness, addiction, a brain tumor diagnosis, and death, my prayer is that His breakthrough in my own life would become yours.

I think this book not only offers hope to the hopeless but also encourages others who’ve had similar experiences of how God’s love pulled them out of a bottomless pit and radically changed their lives to share their testimony with others. I think testimonies are powerful and are not shared enough. I’ve had many similar experiences as Cristina and have always felt ashamed and discouraged to share with others. But I’ve always felt that with so many people who are hurting and feeling alone, why wouldn’t we share what the Lord has done for us – it may just be what their hearts need to hear at that moment. These “me too” experiences may be what the Holy Spirit uses to open their hearts and bring fresh hope and strong faith to believe in miracles for their lives and others. Prayer changes things, and I’m a true believer that if He did it for me, He will do it for you.
