I was given the opportunity to attend a virtual live concert Wednesday night featuring Anne Wilson and her music from her debut album, My Jesus. The album has a country/rootsy vibe, and every song is wonderful! I enjoyed the music and experience so much!
My Jesus Album Launch Livestream Event

I have been enjoying the song “My Jesus” this year. I can relate to it very much, and it always puts me in a good dancing mood. I find my thoughts drifting to all the times the Lord has carried me through. I think it’s an encouraging song that invites the listener to learn about Jesus intimately and invites those that do know Jesus to share what He means to us with others.
So, when I was given the chance to check out this live event of the debut of her album “My Jesus”, I was excited!

About Anne Wilson
While this is her debut album, Anne Wilson is already making quite a splash in the music world. Her debut single and title track of this album was the longest #1 single on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart of 2021 at 7 weeks total. It was also nominated for a 2022 Billboard Music Award for “Top Christian Song” against Kayne West. (You can check out the awards yourself on May 15 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC. It will also stream live on Peacock.) The song hit #1 on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 and #19 on the Rolling Stone Top 25 Trending charts. Anne Wilson was featured as Billboard’s October 2021 Chartbreaker Artist in their 21 Under 21 issue. She also is the first female solo artist’s debut single to reach #1 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart.
Wow! What impressive stats for a debut artist!
Behind The Music
Singer/songwriter Anne Wilson knows the healing power of music firsthand. The lyrics of Hillsong Worship’s “What A Beautiful Name” became a lifeline for the Lexington, Kentucky native after her brother was tragically killed in a car accident at the age of 23. Although she spent much of her childhood behind a piano, Wilson sang in front of an audience for the first time at her brother’s funeral. It was at that moment that she realized what she was born to do. A video of her moving performance organically circulated, eventually landing her a record deal. With a mesmerizing voice and a visible hunger for Jesus, the 20-year-old relies on personal journal entries and time spent in nature for songwriting inspiration.
“No matter how hard this gets, I’m choosing to trust God.” 🥺 God is in control. 🙏
Over the years, I’ve realized that God never said that life would be easy, but that he would be with us always and carry us through those times. We may not always understand God’s ways, but He will never abandon us and is always there when we need Him the most! This is why I love her new single, “Sunday Sermons.” I love the verse, “The devil gonna try to take me outta that church, but you can’t take the church out of me.” This song is an excellent reminder that the Lord is always faithful and has open arms no matter what life throws at us or when we stumble or turn away. Our faith and hope are in Jesus, and with a firm foundation, it is hard to punch us out with God in our corner. He is always whispering to our hearts to remind us of His faithfulness and love.
Sunday Sermons

Another fantastic track I really enjoyed on the album is “Mamas”, which features Hillary Scott. During the live event, we had a special surprise when Hillary Scott she showed up to perform the song with Anne. It’s a sweet song about the bond between mothers and daughters, and perfect for Mother’s Day. It definitely made me cry, being a mother of daughters myself and remembering all the times my mom has been there for me reminding me of her love and God’s love for me. The official music video will release on 5/4 for Mother’s Day and includes footage of Anne surprising her mother with the song, and Hillary Scott and her daughters.
