Twas the night before Christmas, the year ‘21

And much like 2020, not so good, not so fun

With the snow falling down and the wind blowing colder, “How can one year,” I thought, “make me feel ten years older?”

The children all quiet, snuggled up to devices No visiting grandma, kids, have you seen these gas prices?

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more grim, We lost America’s great romance, R.I.P. Kanye and Kim

We thought Covid came and we thought Covid went And then, what do you know? A new variant!

On Moderna, on Pfizer, on Delta, on Omicron! No, I mean it, get out of here and don’t stop till you’re gone

Then up on the rooftop, we heard reindeer landin’ While crowds down below cheered for some guy named… Brandon?

And down through the chimney came an awkward situation “No gifts,” Santa said, “due to inflation!”

Cargo ships stuck at sea caused supply chain shortages To pay for Christmas presents, we’ll take out second mortgages

And if that’s not enough to make us lose our minds, We’ve heard the word “unprecedented” an unprecedented amount of times

And now, after all of the storms we have weathered, This world sure needs Christmas to bring us together

Yes, it’s been another hard year but that there’s hope still in sight Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night
