As you know from my previous posts Beloved and Lord Give Me Doves Eyes the Holy Spirit talks to me in various ways (verses, songs, videos) and sometimes I don’t know how deeply he’s been talking to me until I put all the pieces together like a puzzle. I have a journal that I write things down in, and that’s how I piece everything together. Below is one of the pages from my journal, and it’s how I’d like to being talking to you about how he wants us to be like the sunflower, abiding in the calm delight of His son Jesus Christ!
Our Map to Find Jesus Can Be Found in The Beatitudes
The Holy Spirit had me studying the Beatitudes a few weeks ago, which are eight blessings recounted by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5:3-10.
When I was looking over my notes I was really drawn to the word “delight” and the words “delight is in the Law of the Lord“, “the Lord is your calm delight“. Let’s look at the verse down below.
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers; but whose delight is in the Law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season – and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.”Psalm 1:1-3
I then reflected on what the words “Law of the Lord“, and the Holy Spirit brought to mind the verse “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Laws and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40) … LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
Below are a few clips from the series, the Chosen. This is what prompted me to search the Bible and study this lesson in Matthew, because I related to Matthew so much.
Below are more notes during my study of the Beatitudes
The beatitudes describe the character of God’s kingdom.
Jesus said the kingdom of God is something that grows, like a grain of mustard seed that is sowed in HIS GARDEN, and grows to become a tree, that birds make their nests in its branches.
What do we truly desire? What do we hunger and thirst for?
God Desires a Heart of Living Worship
When we position our hearts in allegiance with God’s and seek those things that are above we are living a life in obedience and living a life of true worship. When we give our hearts over to Christ (wholeheartedly), then our allegiance and devotion will be to Him alone. As we delight in the law of the Lord (love with all our heart and mind), and worship Him in spirit (Fire) and truth (Word), he begins to transform our hearts and renew our minds.
Resist Temptation by Pureness of Heart
Satan tries to steal our worship (obedience) and attacks our mind with these 3 lies that he wants us to believe. Jesus was tempted in the wildness for 40 days, he attacked these lies by speaking the truth the Word.
Lie #1 – What I do determines who I am (performance trap – lust of the flesh). “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
Truth #1: What Jesus has done for me determines who I am. YOU ARE MY ENOUGH JESUS. Don’t live for affirmations and achievements to determine who you are. Jesus said “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.”
Lie #2 – What people think about me determines who I am (popularity trap – pride of life -boastful). “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,to guard you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up,lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”.”
Truth #2: What Jesus thinks about me determines who I am. Jesus said It is written, “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test“.
Lie #3 – What I have determines who I am (possession trap – lust of eyes). “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.“
Truth #3: What Jesus has done to purchase me determines who I Am. Jesus said “It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.”
Then the devil left Him, and the angels began to serve Him.
Satan tries to deceive us with other lies like “it’s my fault, it won’t change, I won’t be healed, If God is good than why?, and If I would haves.” He also tries to get us to question God’s word and twist it. “Did he really say that?” He tries to isolate us and distance from other believers, and from hearing the truth. This is why we need the body of Christ (to encourage one another).
When we renew our minds and study Gods Word, we begin to know His heart and character – we know who’s and what we are in him.
Become Children of the Light – Look at & Seek the Messiah’s Face & See the Glory of God
Look to Jesus, seek his face and see his glory; listen to him and hear his word; go to him and have life; get to know him and taste his gift of joy and peace.
Now the time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels – a plentiful harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity. Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me … this is the very reason I came! Father, bring glory to your name.John 12:23-27
The Lord has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts – so that their eyes cannot see, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and have me heal themIsaiah 6:10
If you trust me, you are .trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judge on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.John 12:44-50
Jesus Weeps Over Jerusalem
But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes. Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side. They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you.”Luke 19:41-44
Psalms 42 – You alone are my hearts desire, and I long to worship you!
What I know about LOVE is that it is a decision, not a feeling. God wants us to delight in the law of the Lord, and ABIDE IN HIS LOVE & CHARACTER
In the past few weeks I wrote the word “abide” over 20 times in my notes and highlighted it every time- this must be really important! Abide is defined as “to remain stable “rest’ or fixed in a state a love”. Jesus invites us to abide and make our home in Him.
When we LOVE God’s Word (Jesus), we cherish it, and feed upon it daily. We will constantly bear fruit, as we read in the first psalm earlier: “Blessed is the man … [whose] delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water … whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1-3). There is a promise – when we abide in the WORD there is blessing in hearing, believing, and obeying God’s Word – it brings life!
I had wrote down this prayer in my notebook: “Holy Spirit may I yield to you to help teach and guide me on my path of life for Gods Glory. Help me to live an abundant life by growing closer to God by walking in intimacy with your son Jesus Christ”.
“And as we live in God [walk with Him], our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first. If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.”1 John 4:17-21
Jesus’ peace guards my hearts and mind. We are to “guard our hearts and minds” in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7) which means for us to be alert, through Christ’s power and protection, for what enters and dwells in our hearts, because what we say, and do, and who we become is the result of the state of our hearts. This is Jesus examines ours hearts (1 Samuel 16:7) and is concerned about their condition. He said, “So pay attention to how you heart. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listing, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them (Luke 8:18). It’s not enough to hear the word audibly; we need to receive the word into our hearts so it can change us from the inside out.
God My Creator – Jesus My Shelter / My Dwelling Place: From Everlasting to Everlasting – Psalm 90
The Kingdom of God
In Mark 4:26-29 the Lord Jesus used a parable to illustrate the Kingdom of God. He said that the Kingdom is like a seed sown into the earth, which grows until it is mature, and then it is harvested.
The Parable of the Soils
The Parable of the Sower (sometimes called the Parable of the Soils) is found in Matthew 13:1–23, Mark 4:1–20, Luke 8:4–15
“Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil. And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Jesus tells of a farmer who sows seed. Some seed falls on the path (wayside) with no soil, some on rocky ground with little soil (no commitment and wrong priorities), some on soil which contains thorns (only seek God during troubles – you only live once mentality), and some on good soil (wholeheartedly fully surrendered and committed to Him). In the first case, the seed is taken away; in the second and third soils, the seed fails to produce a crop; but when it falls on good soil, it grows and yields thirty-, sixty-, or a hundred-fold.
Jesus later explains to his disciples that the seed represents the Word of the Lord, the sower represents anyone who proclaims it, and the various soils represent people’s responses to it (the condition of their hearts). As we delight in the law of the Lord (love with all our heart and mind), and worship Him in spirit (Fire) and truth (Word), he begins to transform our hearts and renew our minds.
We all have different gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit, but how can you know for certain what your gifts are? And, once you do know, how should you use your gifts to best serve God and bring Him glory?
“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all people. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”
I Corinthians 12:4-7
As you know God’s love, grow in grace, and yield to the power of the Holy Spirit, you will sow seeds of Faith
“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.”
I was recently thinking about a sermon that I had heard in which the pastor mentioned that you can’t plant a pumpkin seed and expect to grow broccoli. I found myself asking God, what type of seed am in Christ? How am I used for the Kingdom of God? He had recently revealed to me that I like to pull up my seeds and inspect them for grow. Seeds grow in stages, and during the growth process He doesn’t want us to be arrogant, but humbly surrendering ourselves to the process of growth (forgiveness, healing, renewing our minds, breaking strongholds, etc). We may plant and water seeds, but in every case, we will not be the one that makes the seeds grow. GOD MAKES THE SEEDS GROW!
The Holy Spirit had me close my eyes and I felt myself as a tiny seed – scared but quietly sitting in the dark dirt seeking the Lord’s presence. I felt myself growing strong and courageous as I abided in the calm delight of the Lord Jesus (as I waited, rested, in the everlasting love of the Lord). Song of Solomon 2:16. I then started to growing with deep roots, and I sprouted out of the earth. I could feel the warm sun upon my face as I continued to grow towards the sun. I could feel myself getting bigger and bigger, and stronger, continually seeking and growing towards the sun. God told me to open up my spiritual eyes and to look around to see what I was..
I was a sunflower!
I found myself laughing in the glory of God so full of joy because I knew what plant I was growing into the whole time! God revealed to me that HE WANTS US ALL TO BE LIKE THE SUNFLOWER, when we rise we should gaze into the face of His son daily, and humbly FOLLOW HIM with a childlike dependency on HIM. This is how young sunflowers gain energy to grow big and strong. As we mature and grow, Jesus is constantly working on and healing the conditions of our hears and renewing our minds by the power of the Holy Spirit. He wants the message of the gospel to be new to us everyday! Our focus and hope should be in Him as we abide in the calm delight of the Lord our Savior.
“When you wake, seek His face.” (Psalm 17:15)
Jesus May You “Delight In the Inside of Me” (My Heart) & May You Be Gorified So Others Will See You In Me!
The importance of being developed by God versus discovered by man.
Love is a Decision NOT a Feeling
Love is a decision, not a feeling. When your soul feels discouraged, praise will root you in truth. Your firm foundation is in the Lord, so delight in the law of the Lord and abide in His love. His word never returns void, and produces HOPE and perseverance as we walk through different seasons in our life. ABIDE IN HIS LOVE – Jesus is our HOPE – our focus – our firm foundation. I will command my soul to abide in calm delight – Jesus. Even when it feels hard, even when it feels scary. Even when -> I will trust you! You are with me, and for me, and you won’t forsake me!
So when we surrender our life to Christ we can count it all joy. The Lord is my calm delight – He is my Joy! I am His, and He is mine! The treasure of my heart is in Heaven – Jesus my Savior and Lord. I look to Him, not the world – His is my focus and my mind, eyes, and heart are on Him.
When I’m surrounded by trials that test my faith, I can hold my ground and have patience (endurance) because I abide in MY CALM DELIGHT!
I’m complete and lack nothing, because the Lord is my calm delight. In Jesus are pleasures (delights) and joy forevermore. In his presence is fullness of joy.
It’s comforting to think that when we dwell and abide in the secret place, we don’t need to worry about the enemy, because very presence of God chases anything that could hard us, and protects us. As we yield to His ways, we take on His character and live in His grace.
In the Light of the Lord (Our Lamp) – Vineyard of Hope – Psalm 119
“Your Word (the Lords character) is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Seek Jesus’ face first thing in the morning like the sunflower, and know that you are blessed when you delight the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night! You will be like a tree planted by streams of living water that yields its fruit in season and it’s leaves don’t wither. He will be a lamp to you feet, and a light to your path … and in all you do, you will prosper. (Psalms 1:1-3)
Father God you are for me, and in me, and I know my truth IN YOU!
Joyful are those who seek God’s face as they focus on Christ. “I will study (learn, think on, write on my heart) your laws and reflect on your ways (fix my eyes on you and your love). I will delight in your decrees; I will not forget your word”. Psalm 119-15-25
The Lord Jesus is My Shepard
The Lord walks with me, I have a hedge of protection because I’m not left alone. The Shepard leads and guide me and protects me. I have no fear, for He is with me and I abide in joy. My ears hear his voice, because I know Him and He leads me and provides for me. He walks closely with me in the ups and down. He guides me along the right path. I’m a beloved child of God, and I walk with Him always, seeking his face. Walking with Him leads me to take on His character of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He transforms my heart. Those walking in a manner worthy of their calling see the unity in the Spirit and the bond of peace shaping every aspect of their lives. Let it be true for you too. Oh beloved of God – walk in the light of the Lord.
Oh Lord, listen to my cry; give me the discerning mind you promised. Listen to my prayer, rescue me as you promised. Let praise flow from my lips, for you have taught me your decrees. Let my tongue sing about your word, for all your commands are right. Give me a helping hand, for I have chosen to follow your commandments. Oh Lord, I have longed for your rescue, and your instructions are my delight. Let me live so I can praise you, and may your regulations help me. I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands.
The Parable of the Great Banquet
The tragedy of the Jewish rejection of Christ has opened the door of salvation to the Gentiles. The blessings of the Kingdom are available to all who will come to Christ by faith.
The inclusion of the Gentiles is a fulfillment of Hosea 2:23, “I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’; and they will say, ‘You are my God.’” God is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9), and “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
Spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom and Discipline All the Nations for the Spread and Development of the Kingdom of God
I heard on the radio the other day this story of bee that got into a family car window on the way to church. The boy in the backseat screamed because it had flown into his jacket. The mom said “hey! quiet!, if you don’t bother the bee.. he won’t bother you!” The boy thought to himself that if he were that bee he wasn’t sure if he’d be bothered going to church, but he was definitely sure he’d be bother smacking the window of a moving car.
I was laughing so hard at this story and was wondering why the Lord had me remember it… it reminded me how bees are attracted to sunflowers. They rely on the sunflowers for pollen and nectar. They are attracted to the blooms that look like the sun, and because they follow the warm sun it creates a glowing warm basin of golden pollen and sweet nectar to draw bees and the pollinate it. Mature oil-rich seed heads follow, feeding both wildlife and humans. Pollination is the main goal of the sunflower, as pollination produces seeds. Sunflower seeds are one of the largest producing crops grown and sold worldwide. Each head can produce 1,000-2000 seeds.
Praying for God’s Kingdom should be our focus as a Christian – for a fruitful life and for Jesus to be made known across the Earth.
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory Forever.”Matthew 6:9-13
The parable about the wheat and the tears is about the Strategy of God’s Kingdom. Jesus wants the church to have a Kingdom focus, and go beyond the four walls of the church, and work in His Field (with Jesus). We all work together with the same purpose (1 Corinthians 3:6). Some sow, and some water, but only God grows! The harvest is great, but the workers are few because of lack of commitment – most run after the things of this world (Colossians 3:1,2), but few care about the welfare of others showing goodness, kindness and love. Matthew 7:16 says you will know true followers by their fruit, and it shows what’s inside their hearts (Mary 7:20-23). Every word and every action is fruit from our hearts. Bad hearts produce bad fruit, as we stray from the path of righteousness which is the message of Jesus Christ. When we repent of our sin and receive Jesus as Lord of our lives (John 1:12), he changes our hearts (2 Corinthians 5:17). That is when we produce good fruit (Galatians 5:22) which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Our attitudes, actions, words, and perspectives change as we walk in fellowship with the Holy Spirit (1 John 1:6-7). We receive the Holy Spirit when we believe in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit then conforms us into the image of Christ, making us more like Him as we walk with Him. Our sinful flesh produces bad fruit, and the Holy Spirit produces types of fruit that reflect His nature (the nature of the son Jesus).
Jesus wants Christians to seek His face in the morning and follow Him like a sunflower … so we can get our light from Him as we seek His face in unity, and reflect His glory as we lead the lost into His kingdom. Matthew 13:43 says, “Then the righteous shall shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” Jesus wants us to seek His face so we can walk in His power, and be the vessels to carry out His will on earth. Like the sunflower when we are mature and grow in Him others will be able to eat from the fruit (seeds) of our spiritual development. As followers of Christ we have the privilege to plant and water seeds of faith by sowing seeds of goodness, kindness, and love to others. This is how the Lord uses us for His Kingdom – we put our Faith in Him by continually seeking His face and yielding to the will of the Holy Spirit, and we share our seeds with others and God will make them grow for His glory and purposes (Isaiah 61:3).
When you rise in the morning seek His face and be fully committed and open to be used by Jesus to share with others (spiritually and physically).
This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice (delight) and be glad in it! When you rise in the morning seek His face and be fully committed and open to be used by Jesus to share with others (spiritually and physically). When you rise in the morning seek my face. Fear not and be of good cheer. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord (calm delight) is my strength. No matter what you’re facing in life, in Christ you can learn to live in the calm delight of His strengthening joy (Nehemiah 8:10). The God of hope fills us with all joy and peace as we trust in him, and we overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).
He has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything that we have done, but because of His own purpose and grace (2 Timothy 1:9). When the Lord ranks first in our hearts, then He is above all others. May we learn to appreciate our Lord’s sacrifice and be ready to apply the words. “I Surrender All.”
Did you know that a mixture of salt and honey aids in sleep!?!
A mixture of Himalayan salt and raw honey works to increase your body’s serotonin which decreases the stress hormone known as cortisol. The result is a deep sleep that actually makes you feel well-rested in the morning!
Gods love for us is that HONEY, and it was that love for us that SET US FREE! We can abide in the calm delight of the Lord because of our victory over sin and death! When we take the position of faith, we can find blessedness in our brokenness (The Beatitudes). When we trust in Gods promises, and know that he always show up with HONEY!
This is why God wants you to bloom where you are planted – no matter the situation. God will prosper you in the midst. When we submit to Him and live by faith he can use us for his glory! These are conditions of a good heart, and when we delight in the Lord he will give us the desires of our heart (Psalms 37:4). We must always remember, even through we may live in scary times – the Lord is in control and as long as we put our trust in Him, it will all work out for His glory!
The gospel message should be front and center in our lives – and we should approach the throne of Grace daily, so that it’s on our hearts to share the good news with others, “For our sake God made Christ to be sin, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
The God who gives grace, endurance, and encouragement gives you the same attitude and mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, “so that with one mind and one voice we may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 15:5).
We are one in Christ Jesus, all one body
all one spirit, all together.
We are one in Christ Jesus, all one body
all one spirit, all together.
We share one God, one mighty Lord,
one abiding faith, one binding love,
one single baptism, one Holy Comforter,
the Holy Spirit, uniting all.
God wants us to be the salt of the earth – and participate with Him in the healing, redemption, and slowing down of the decay of the world because of sin. When we mix this salt with HIS HONEY we actively participate with Him to heal the world (not destroy it). Jesus said if you love me – feed my sheep! We share our faith with others, because we have freedom in Jesus Christ. The God of hope fills us with joy and peace in believing. His love for us set us free. (Romans 15:13). As we experience that unconditional love, we are able to share it with others. Those who hunger and thirst will find Him when they seek the Lord wholeheartedly.
I will say to the prisoners, “Come out in freedom,’ and to those in darkness, “Come into the light.” They will be my sheep, grazing in green pastures and on hills that were previously bare. They will neither hunger nor thirst. The searing sun will not reach them anymore. For the Lord in his mercy will lead them; he will lead them beside cool waters. And I will make my mountains into level paths for them. The highways will be raised above the valleys.Isaiah 49:9-11
In Jesus, true freedom is found.
Speak life – because everything you say is going to grow. Bring in the harvest.
Weeping may last for the night, but joy comes with the morning! (Psalm 30).
“This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be Glad in it!”
I will delight and lift up my day to God. My help comes from the Lord – the maker of Heaven and Earth.
I recently read a book, titled “Josiah’s Fire” in which an autistic boy describes our mission in life according to the Father (Papa), Son (Healer), and Holy Spirit (Helper). During the day we should ask the Father “What do you think?” ask Jesus “What do you love?” ask the Holy Spirit “What should I do about it?”
Our mission is to do what the Father thinks, Jesus loves, and what the Holy Spirit tells us to do.
You will wake up and know that Jesus loves you & know your purpose!
Honor Him – Vessel for Christ (Worship)
I was praying for someone who was in the hospital for COVID, that is when I looked down on the carpet and found this little metal piece with the words “Ineffable Care“. I heard the Holy Spirit ask me to look up the words in Hebrew.
It means a love more than can be expressed! When I reflect on the “Ineffable Care” and concern of the Lord Jesus Christ for us, there is no greater love that can be expressed! We love because He first loved us, we forgive because He first forgave us. We serve because Jesus served. We bless out of the abundance of the Holy Spirit, and follow Christ as the Lord and Savior of all because we have Faith in Him. Jesus is the treasure of my heart, and I delight in Him – because of that when I am in his hands I can trust in His care. I can put my anxieties in his hands, and focus on the work He has for me. He never sleeps and I can rest in his loving embrace (Psalms 121). I can hope I the uncertainty because he is alive, and loves me.
I hold my hands out to Him, praising Him for being my God! My heart delights in you, and your heart delights in me. You are my Father and you are proud of me. I study the Word to abide in Jesus character, and thus planting seeds of truth in my heart. This is how I actively worship you with all my heart by fully seeking you, and honoring you in all I do. You are my primary passion in life – my heart – and my purpose.
Just like the broken alabaster jar. You want us to bring our most costly possessions and give them to you. This is how we honor you with our lives – we trust and love you with all our hearts.
The Ineffable Name of God is spelled with the letters YHVH
The Lord said to Moses, “This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them. “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” “So they will put my name (character) on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”Numbers 6:22-27
YHWH will kneel before you presenting gifts and will guard you with a hedge of protection. YHWH will illuminate the wholeness of his being towards you bringing order and he will provide you with love, sustenance, and friendship. YHWH will lift up his wholeness of being and look upon you and he will set in place all you need to be whole and complete. – This blessing (Numbers 6:22-27) is the character of Yahweh.
“That my character may be recounted throughout all the earth.Exodus 9:16
A Prayer to Be Like the Sunflowers
God, you have called us to be diligent and not lukewarm Christians. We all need light in our lives – the light of hope, love, and healing. Help us to not take advantage of your gift of love that you’ve given us, and represent our King by being fully committed and on fire for you. Help us to rise in the morning rested and excited to be productive in the work you’ve set before us. May we be like the sunflowers, and seek the your son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ wholeheartedly and live a life of obedience and “living worship” as we position our hearts and minds to follow Him daily as we serve Him and others. You have said in your word, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” (Psalms 133:1). Help us to stay unified in purpose and position, so that your Kingdom will come and Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. May the gospel message be front and center in our lives – and may we remind ourselves daily of your grace, love, and goodness – “For our sake God made Christ to be sin, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Keep us balanced so we can enjoy the fruit of our labors, and enjoy the blessings that you have bestowed upon us. Teach us to listen and yield to your Holy Spirit as you direct us each day, and help us live a life that brings you GLORY. May your GLORY be present in our lives so that we can represent God before men to “show forth the praises of him who hath called us out of darkness and into his marvelous light”. May your glory shine, and may others see your loving goodness and truth in all we do. May we hold back the evil of the world and slow its decay by illuminating the light of the Word into the dark broken places of our lives and others. We are so grateful that you are renewing our minds, strengthening our hearts, and illuminating us so we can be used in your redemption plan for the world. Help us to be kind at all times, compassionate always, and forgiving one another – just as you forgave us. May we continue to encourage and build each other up with your promises, because your love is sweet like HONEY in the middle of our hardships. Help us to participate in the healing of the world, not it’s destruction. For true freedom is serving Christ and being fully committed in Him so that others can be set free by GODS GRACE. Help us to know when enough is enough, and how to release the results into YOUR HANDS – for you are the one who make seeds grow! As we trust in you and yield to your plan, may the seeds we plant and water grow into beautiful plants for your purposes and glory!
In Jesus Name Amen
Sowing/Watering Seeds in Our Children
God’s intention for the home is that it be the launching pad for life. That means our homes should be a haven. A place where we experience freedom to be ourselves, to feel like we matter, that we belong, and that forgiveness makes a difference. This doesn’t happen by accident… but by healthily, lovingly, prayerfully, and intentionality sowing into our families lives.
As parents it can be disheartening when we don’t see the progress and fruit right away from sowing/watering into our children’s lives. But God wants us to hold on to His promises – fruit will come. We can be at peace knowing that our children are in His hands, and it’s God that makes growth happen. All we need to do is step back, and watch Him work!
