What These Songs Mean to Me
As we are coming out of a unique time in history, I can’t wait to come together and worship God as a family with these amazing worship leaders! There’s a new hope rising!
The two songs down below are very special to me, as they help me get through last year. After school shut down due to COVID (this included my work at school), house lock downs, home schooling, and the ongoing fear that seemed to consume our thoughts … these songs help ground us, bring us hope, uplifted our spirits, and reminded us of the one who was in control of it all.
In the beginning I remember watching the “The Prince of Egypt” movie with the girls, and explaining to them how I saw in the spirit, and felt like we should visualize painting our house with Jesus blood and pray over our family. We prayed together, wept, kneeled on the ground, and sang “The Blessing” together. It was such an encouraging song for my family, especially being a single mom. It reminded me that I’m not alone, it cover my family with scriptural based prayer, and brought us peace.

Another song that became a family anthem was “Raise a Hallelujah”. I had the graphic art for the single on my facebook cover all year as a reminder! This song sparked such hope in our hearts, and I enjoyed singing this song through the storm with my family. It definitely helped keep our minds on Christ.
Bethel Music – Raise a Hallelujah
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
