How to Make Fried Chicken

Place chicken in buttermilk/hot sauce in sealable container for 24-48 hours.

1 qt buttermilk and 1/4 cup hot sauce

Mix dry ingredients together.

1 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup fine yellow cornmeal, 1 1/2 T  pepper, 1 1/2 T paprika, 1 T turmeric, 1 T salt, 1 tsp onion powder, 34 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Coat chicken in dry mixture

Fry chicken in skillet (canola oil) until both sides are brown.

You can continue to fry until done, or my preference and put in the Oven 400F for 30 minutes or until done.

  1. Cooking chicken always makes me nervous cause i’m never sure if its cooked completely. This recipe looks really good and super easy though, I may have to try it or have my husband try it 🙂

    • That’s why I always bake mine at the end. It eases my worry of being done, and it’s less greasy! I always check one piece at 30 mins, and if not done I still bake it another 10.
