“Beautiful Day” is the opening track and first music video from Red Yarn’s 2016 album ‘Wake Up & Sing‘ (produced by GRAMMY winner Dean Jones at No Parking Studio). Originally written by Red Yarn (aka Andy Furgeson) as an invocation for his preschool visits, “Beautiful Day” adapts the melody of the traditional folk hymn “Thine the Glory” (later adapted as “Hallelujah, I’m a Bum”).

lyrics

The sun has come up

The rooster has crowed

And I’m wide awake

From my head to my toes

My friends are all here

We’re ready to play

Good morning to you

It’s a beautiful day

Good morning getting better

Just get up and see

A good morning to be together

To be you and to be me

Good morning getting better

So wake up and sing

A good morning, we’re together

What more could life bring?
