Hi there,
I wanted to share with you a fun and effective way to connect with your child through “I love you rituals.” These rituals involve rhymes, songs, and touch play activities that are perfect for children since they learn, discover, and develop through playing. By incorporating fun into these rituals, you can keep your child’s attention while showering them with love and adoration.
The goals of these rituals are to optimize your child’s brain for success at school and in life, increase your child’s learning potential and effectiveness through touch, create loving rituals that hold families together even through the rough times, and strengthen the bond between adults and children that insulates children from drugs, violence, and peer pressure, laying a foundation for mental and emotional health.

One of my favorite “I love you” rituals is called “Snuggle Time.” It’s a five-minute time-out from the hustle of life where you and your child can settle in together. To transition into this special time, say the following rhyme:
Sometimes I yell.
Sometimes I hurry.
Sometimes I fuss.
And sometimes I worry.
All is not lost.
Everything is fine.
I love you so much.
Now it’s snuggle time!
During snuggle time, you can hold each other, rock in a chair, or even read a book. Despite our busy lives, it’s a simple yet effective way to make special moments with your children.
